Our Team of Coaches
At each clinic timeslot there will be up to 7 coaches on deck to provide feedback, structure and support.
All our coaches below come from a high level competitive open water &/or pool swimming background. They have performed at the very highest levels in New Zealand swimming and have ample coaching experience, hence you are in very capable hands with us.
Haydn has been operating FutureDreams since 1999. He is responsible for all marketing, program construction and administration. The business spans over 40x open water Clinics & Events, plus teaching and coaching from multiple Auckland pool facilities. Formerly an elite swimmer, he held both the NZ 400 Medley title and 3000m NZ Record in 1993. As an ITU triathlete he was one of the top 2 fastest triathlon swimmers in the world exiting the water first at World Champs in Cancun 1995 plus set an unofficial World Record IM Swim Time of 43.30 in 1997
Nick is an ex competitive swimmer for Comet Swim Club in Gisborne and has represented his club nationally. He is a current member of the Wainui SLSC and has competed in surf races from a young age giving him a strong background in big wave ocean swimming. Nick also provides assistance coaching for Tepid Baths Swim Squads
Declan is an ex Elite swimmer hailing from a sprint freestyle background. His best time for 100m Freestyle was in the 52sec range making him an excellent guide to help ID problems with whats holding you back in the water.
Molly is an ex competitive swimmer from Mt Eden Swim Club. In 2011 she switched to triathlon and has racked up numerous national age-group podium finishes in sprint and standard distance triathlons and also competed at the ITU World Championships in both 2014 and 2017
Sam is a former competitive swimmer from the Sundevils Swim Club in Hawkes Bay and his best event was the 1500m Free. In 2012 he switched to triathlon and has since competed at Age Group World Champs in 2013 and 2017. He has multiple top 3 results at national level as well.
Keegan is ax ex competitive swimmer from Taupo Swim Club who is now residing on the North Shore while he finishes his studies. Keegan is traditionally a distance freestyler having competed in the 10km and 5km national Open water Championships multiple times, however has recently looked at evolving into the sprinter type
Kylie is a ex Australian swimmer who competed nationally for her club 4 years in a row. She switched over to ocean swimming in 2015 and has enjoyed it ever since
Rafael is a Brazilian ex competitive swimmer who has competed nationally in 50/100m freestyle and 50/100m backstroke. He's been swimming coaching now for over 7 years, formerly at Lagoon Leisure & Fitness. He is also an ocean lover spending most of his time surfing, swimming and sailing.
